An innovative creative marketer

I am a senior marketing leader, writer and designer who has been living in Sydney since 2005, where I’ve gained international marketing and creative experience and skills working for large premium global brands and a few tech start-ups.
I have many years’ marketing experience at prestigious global brands and start-ups in Sydney and Auckland at; Supr, Employment Hero, Splendrous, Harmoney, CommBank, American Express, Samsung, Nasdaq, Thomson Reuters and Thomson Financial.
My generalist marketing experience is across the whole customer lifecycle: growth, engagement and retention marketing. I also have experience in; content marketing, brand marketing and management, digital marketing, direct marketing, lifecycle marketing, product marketing, loyalty, SEO, social media marketing, partnership and affiliate marketing, offers, event marketing, plus website and platform management.
In these roles I’ve been responsible for marketing strategies, digital strategies, GTM strategies, brand management, copywriting and UX writing, design management and execution, team leadership and multi-channel marketing campaign execution to grow business and revenue in the APAC region, for Australia and New Zealand, or for Australia or New Zealand.
My marketing experience is in; B2B (9 yrs) CommBank, Samsung, Nasdaq, Thomson Reuters and Thomson Financial, and B2B2C (3.5yrs) and B2C (9yrs) Employment Hero, Supr, Splendrous, Harmoney, American Express and Samsung, and both BTL & ATL.
I have experience in managing and launching brands, marketing corporate solutions, SaaS products, apps, personal loans, credit cards, payments, banking products, retail / dining / travel / entertainment Amex offers, loyalty, retail electronics, and HR and payroll solutions. However, marketing principles are the same no matter what product or service you are selling.
Some of my marketing achievements are;
- Acquiring over 2 million Swag users within 2 years at Employment Hero.
- Helped grow Employment Hero to $250M AUD in annual recurring revenue through the development and release of the Swag brand and app improving the product offering to small to medium sized businesses.
- Swag is always in the Top 10 Business apps in the Apple App Store (Employment Hero).
- In my own business Splendrous I designed and developed 5 iMessage Sticker Apps; Love from, All Talk, Christmas Greetings, Kiwi Slang and Ozzie Slang.
- In my own business Splendrous, Kiwi Slang and Christmas Greetings both made it to #1 in the New Zealand and Australian Apple App Stores in December 2021. Ozzie Slang (previously called Strayan Slang) also made it to #1 in the Australian Apple App Store in March 2024.
- Increasing revenue achieving profitability at Harmoney.
- Creating new lifecycle marketing programs increasing repeat revenue from existing customers at Harmoney.
- 470% growth in membership of the Amex Offers Amex Connect Website at American Express.
- Increasing bank issued Amex cards in market, spend on card and share of wallet across the big four banks at American Express.
- Increasing Amex Offer engagement and redemption while at American Express.
- Growing the merchant fulfilled offer program while at American Express.
- 20 – 25% YOY growth at Nasdaq, Thomson Reuters and Thomson Financial.
- Launch of the Swag brand, app and website at Employment Hero.
- Launch of the Hero Wallet in Australia in 2022 at Employment Hero.
- Rebrand of Harmoney and the brand launch across Australia and New Zealand. Increased brand awareness.
- The build and launch of the Compass website at CommBank.
- Amex GNP ANZ General Manager’s Award 2017 for the Amex Connect Website migration from SDL Tridion and the new website build of Amex Connect on Adobe Experience Manager.
- Amex GNP ANZ General Manager’s Award 2015 for the management and huge engagement of the Shop Small Campaign for the 4 banks; ANZ, CommBank, NAB & Westpac, and Shop Small marketing to amexconnect.com.au members.
- A Samsung SEO website audit and recommendations and improved Samsung website performance.
- At Samsung I was responsible for managing the redesign of the Apps section of the website, and was also responsible for managing the redesign of the Business section of the website.
- Gold Thomson Reuters Above & Beyond Award 2013. For the creation and launch of Multimedia Channel Partner Program branded marketing material and resources.For the creation and launch of Multimedia Channel Partner Program branded marketing material and resources.
- Platinum Thomson Reuters Above & Beyond Award 2012. For negotiating a new AIRA sponsorship agreement and saving Thomson Reuters over $10,000.
- I managed a rebrand of Thomson Reuters Corporate Solutions to Nasdaq in 2013.
- I managed a rebrand of Thomson Financial Corporate Solutions to Thomson Reuters in 2008.
Copywriting
I have extensive copywriting and communications experience and have written for all formats across digital and print as a marketing manager for global corporations and start ups, mostly in financial services. I have written for; websites, blogs, emails, case studies, white papers, print ads, digital ads, social media, TV ads, radio ads, direct mail, product brochures, apps, product platforms, annual reports and more. Examples of my writing are all over this website including the portfolio pages.
As a side hustle I’m a freelance journalist for Waterford Press and write feature articles for multiple publications; Business Rural South, Business Rural North, Business South, Business North, Business Central, NZ Dairy and more.
A designer and developer
I have extensive experience as a graphic and interactive designer and developer, as this was my former profession before a marketing manager. I had a freelance graphic design business for many years in New Zealand and I worked as a digital designer and developer for 3 years for interactive companies in Auckland and Sydney. I also worked as a designer and marketing manager at Thomson Financial, Thomson Reuters and Nasdaq. I currently have my own side-hustle design business Splendrous – where I have designed and built five iOS iMessage Sticker Apps; Love from, All Talk, Christmas Greetings, Kiwi Slang and Ozzie Slang, plus clothing and merchandise. Three of these apps got to #1 in the App Store.

I’m passionate about marketing, digital and design. I have a customer first attitude and always think of the end-to-end customer experience. I have a creative mind and an eye for detail, and I use data, customer feedback, creative thinking, business strategies, problem solving, marketing skills and experience, and research to inform marketing and digital strategies and decisions.
I have excellent skills across; marketing strategy, campaign management, brand management, digital management, copy writing, creative direction, project management, stakeholder management, team leadership, plus graphic and web design.
I enjoy the art of storytelling – whether it’s telling a brand story, copy writing to market a product or service, or enjoying storytelling myself through books, film, streaming media and television. I have over 8 years leadership experience and have led small teams in many of my marketing roles managing; marketing coordinators, marketing interns, graphic designers, customer service specialists, digital specialists, web developers and web designers. I like to create a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within a team. I believe in strengths-based leadership and setting clear goals and KPI’s for the team. My leadership style is mostly a mix of coaching and supporting styles, but occasionally I use delegation and directing leadership styles if required. Personal life

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband and friends and family. I have a love of film, streaming media and TV and I have an extensive film collection and multiple streaming subscriptions. I love the 1950’s and old Hollywood movies and stars – especially Marilyn Monroe.
I love design, architecture and designer fashion. I enjoy dining out and travelling and experiencing other cultures and seeing the world.
My next goal is to write and illustrate some children’s books.
